Big Win Versus Hometown Rivals
Schmidt nets hat trick!

The boys were back on track again after a heart breaker in Wingham. Back in their own barn and fit for a showdown with hometown rivals. Hot out of the gates and wasting no time, the boys were flying from the first drop of the puck. Less than two minutes in, Willy Schmidt nets the first tally on a great break out and set up by "BIG" Ed Mckee and Ryan Lair. after a number of key saves from net minder Chase Hauck, the opposition capitalized on a defensive breakdown less than a minute later to knot things up at 1-1. Not to be deterred, the boys got right back to work. Willy Schmidt took matters into his own hands with a great solo effort to net his second of the game. Into the second with a one goal lead the boys were just getting started. Not letting even the net slow him down (ouch!) Austin Hogg crashed his way onto the score sheet with a great solo effort of his own to make it 3-1. Not to be out shined, with a great end to end charge Coleman Meyer potted his first of the match to give the home squad a comfortable 4-1 gap. With the crowd still reeling from Meyer`s charge and only 22 seconds later, young Schmidt flew down the wing leaving all in the streak left by his John Deere green helmet. Not letting defenders or even the end boards slow him down, (ouch!) fired home his third for the hat trick! With all guns firing in the second, the boys weren`t quite finished with Steven Ottewell adding an unassisted marker of his own and with 11.6 seconds left added one more with Andrew Young banging one home on a textbook set up from Meyer and Ryan Lair. After a number of big saves at key times and a shutout period Hauck had one sneak through middle of the third to make the final 7-2. Great job guys you played a heck of a game and we`re all very proud of the way you played. Keep up the good work and you`ll keep your keep your coaching staff form being stark raving mad come practice time!
