Lang’s General Contracting Midget Women HL, 2009-2010 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

On Sunday, February 14, Lang’s Contracting Midget team hosted Normanby.  The girls came out flying after a 2 week period with no games.

The Walkerton Lang’s Midget Girls’ team started off 2010 with a win and loss, both with the same 2-0 score. On January 3 Walkerton participated in the annual Reeves Cup in Mount Forest. They came out on the losing end of that score but had two winners in the skills competition part of the day. Adrianna Droefke won the hardest shot competition and Claire Tomlinson won for the fastest skater. Walkerton’s first win of the year came a few days later in a road game with Upper Maitland. The Walkerton Midget Lang’s girls secured their first win in a while, kicking off a good start to the holiday break. They hosted Normanby on December 20 in what was a scoreless affair until the third outing. At the 10-minute mark of the third period Claire Tomlinson slipped one by the Normanby goalie off a nice pass from rookie Pam Howe. Two minutes later Jessica Dredge scored again, assisted by Gab Lehman and Scarlett Davidson, and then Lehman seemed to secure the win with another off passes from Adrianna Droefke and Howe. The Lang’s Walkerton Midget Girls’ team added another tie to their season’s record after a week of stormy weather that saw two of three games cancelled. The tie came December 13th in a road game with Mount Forest. Earlier in the week, winter’s first storm to the region saw away games with Chesley and Belmore both cancelled. The Mount Forest outing remained scoreless for almost half the game when Adrianna Droefke finally netted one off a pass from Claire Tomlinson. The Walkerton Midget Girls’ Lang’s team had a tie and loss in recent hockey action. The hometown girls travelled to Ripley November 30 and in a game of back and forth action left with a 3-3 tie. December 6’s game on home ice against Mildmay was a different story as Walkerton just couldn’t get the shots needed to get on the scoreboard and took the 5-0 loss. Walkerton opened scoring in the Ripley game with a nice goal by Ashlee Cameron on a pass from Marissa Dales.
