Tie and a Loss
The Walkerton Midget Girls’ Lang’s team had a tie and loss in recent hockey action. The hometown girls travelled to Ripley November 30 and in a game of back and forth action left with a 3-3 tie. December 6’s game on home ice against Mildmay was a different story as Walkerton just couldn’t get the shots needed to get on the scoreboard and took the 5-0 loss. Walkerton opened scoring in the Ripley game with a nice goal by Ashlee Cameron on a pass from Marissa Dales. Ripley tied it up less than 2 minutes later but before the end of this period Walkerton was once again ahead on a goal by Kaitlin Dosman, assisted by Claire Tomlinson and Dales. Walkerton held the lead for most of the second but Ripley managed to get one by Reshay Sullivan with 2 minutes left in the period. Heather Kelly scored in the third to put Walkerton in the lead for the last time, assisted by Lexie Bell and Cameron. But once again Ripley retaliated with a goal and the scoreboard remained a 3-3, despite a last minute rush by the Walkerton girls.
