Another Tie for Lang's Record
The Lang’s Walkerton Midget Girls’ team added another tie to their season’s record after a week of stormy weather that saw two of three games cancelled. The tie came December 13th in a road game with Mount Forest. Earlier in the week, winter’s first storm to the region saw away games with Chesley and Belmore both cancelled. The Mount Forest outing remained scoreless for almost half the game when Adrianna Droefke finally netted one off a pass from Claire Tomlinson. Walkerton was dominating the play and it appeared a win might be on the horizon when Lexie Bell’s defensive efforts in the third earned Mount Forest a penalty shot. As always, Reshay Sullivan was hot between the pipes and had made several key saves leading up to the penalty shot but just couldn’t deflect the top shelf goal putting the scoreboard at 1-1. The local girls put forth a strong effort in the final minutes of the game but just couldn’t put another one in the net.
