Walkerton PWU Bantam Boys took the win on Wednesday Feb 20th. They beat Mount Forest 2 to 1 in a very exciting and close game. First period there was great passing and changes for both teams but the goalies were ready. Walkerton went on the attack and this made Mount Forest get a penalty. But there was no goal scored. Second period both teams are looking to score the first goal of the game. The teams start to use their body and Walkerton gets 2 penalties and Mount Forest 1 but neither team scores. It was back and forth for the second but still no goals. Third period both of the teams start to play rough trying to get that first goal. Then Nick Schmidt scores the 1st goal assisted by Joseph Moran and Steve Lang. Mount Forest didn’t like that so they came back and tied it up. This is when things started to get physical . With the final seconds (11.2) left to play Scott Markauskas scores the game winner. The goal was assisted by Derek Merchant. Walkerton now has a win and a loss in the playoffs.
