Playoff Game 7 vs Huron-Bruce Blizzard (White)
The Walkerton Capitals would be back on home ice as they played the Huron-Bruce Blizzard (White) on March 12, 2024.  The game would be a slower pace than the previous game on the weekend but the Capitals would make the most of their opportunities.

The Capitals would open the scoring with just over nine minutes remaining in the first when Luka Abell took a tap pass from his goalie and skated up the ice and through the defence and fired a hard wrist shot that was stopped but he picked up the rebound skated around the net and circled in front before firing again this time catching the top corner.  Walkerton would hold a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The second period and the tempo was picked up by both teams.  Walkerton would increase its lead when Marshall Odell scored from the slot area after taking a pass from Spencer Odell from behind the net.  Marshall Odell would then pick up his second goal after taking a stretch pass and beating the goalie just under the crossbar.  Spencer Odell and Curtis Rowe would pick up assist on the play.   Walkerton would add to its lead while on a two man advantage power play when Chase Kaufman would bury a loose puck during a goalmouth scramble.  Keegan Batte would get the assist on the goal.  Walkerton would hold a 4-0 lead after two periods in the books.

The Huron-Bruce Blizzard would score early in the third period but Walkerton would respond just a few minutes later when Luka Abell stopped a clearing attempt and his wrist shot from the blueline found the back of the net while the Capitals were again on the powerplay.  The Blizzard would score just before the halfway point of the period.  The scoring would wrap up when Colby Schmidt tucked a loose puck under the Blizzard goalie, the assists would be credited to Luka Abell.  The final few minutes of the game would see an endless parade of players visiting the penalty box.  A scrum after the whistle would result in a major penalty for a Walkerton player and subsequent suspension.

The boys will now be short one of its leading scorers right when we need it the most.  Everyone will now need to step their own individual game for the good of all.
