Let the Tryouts Begin
It’s no secret the process of team selection can be stressful, to all involved, most importantly, to the boys (or girls of course when applicable). At the end of the day, this is a game, and what's most important, is that they work hard, and have fun doing it.
In the past, I always used a team of independent evaluators, but my son and his friends were always on the ice. As you know, I have no team biases or connections whatsoever, and because we don't have a huge pool of players to review, I will manage the evaluation process.
I'll be looking for individual and team skills, but I am equally interested in their work ethic and their attitude. I will update the list of players invited back to our third tryout, by email, and also on the team website.
Regardless of who is on whichever team, we can easily make this the best season of hockey ever for these boys. It's up to all of us.
