Good Game With Battle Scars To Prove It
Our first match up against AEMHA was one of our best games of the season so far. On Thursday night, the PW Rep squad played in Tara (yes they have a rink there), against a larger, and older team (more than half are second year players, including one who played some high level hockey in the GTHL).

We lost the game 6-3, but it really was more like a tie game. AE had one goal with a little help from the ref when he inadvertently blocked our breakout, giving our opponents a scoring opportunity, which they capitalized on. Another goal caught all of us off guard when it went in right off the puck drop. And a third, actually the first of the game, was one we put in our own net. Credit given to the 'workhorse' that scored the goal, as it was his first of the season. :)

For the bulk of the game, our guys fought hard when it mattered, and they were not afraid to get into the dirty spots. The goals we did score (two from Chop and another from Trent) were nice goals, and were in part, a result of team work and some relentless activity around their net. The battles were tough, and four injuries in the game would certainly be enough proof of that, with two of our 'firecrackers' needing to be carried off the ice.

While there is always room for improvement, our guys continue to show some real signs of development. Winning games would certainly be nice, but it is the progress in their compete level that we are really looking for, and we did see signs of that Thursday night in Tara.
