A Sunday afternoon game against the Drayton Orange team
would be the second game of the weekend for the Walkerton Capitals team.
The Drayton Orange team would come out with speed and put pressure on the Walkerton net. Talan Hope would be sharp early and made several key saves. Walkerton would score with 3:45 remaining in the first when Colby Schmidt sent a pass to Wes Hunt who buried a hard shot into the back of the net. Walkerton lead 1-0 after the first 10 minutes.
The Capitals would score early in the second when Logan Bradley fired a hard shot stick side after taking a pass from Mason Lina. Drayton would score with just over a minute remaining in the frame to narrow the Walkerton lead to 2-1.
The third period would start off with a bang when just 19 seconds in Drayton would score to tie the game. After the ensuing face off Carson Baglole would carry the puck into the Drayton zone and send a pass to awaiting Jack Walter whose one timer beat the Drayton goalie. Both teams would continue to play hard throughout the period but the goaltending from both sides was top notch.
The passing game was much stronger in this game, the skating speed of those back-checking was exceptional. The Capitals played a solid two way game and came away with a 3-2 victory.
