Playoffs Game 4 & 5 - Hanover Falcons #2
The Capitals would play a home and home weekend series against the Hanover Falcon #2 team.  The first Saturday game would be played at the P&H Centre in Hanover.

The Falcon’s would score midway through the first period when a wrist shot found the corner of the net.  The two teams would continue to battle in an entertaining back and forth game.  The Falcon’s would hold onto the 1-0 lead through the first and second periods.

The Walkerton Capitals would continue to press and would be rewarded when Matthew McNaughton sent a hard pass to a streaking Travis Goll who unleashed a hard wrist shot into the back of the Falcon’s net.  The Capitals would then take the lead a few minutes later when Carson Baglole sent a pass from behind the Hanover net and onto the stick of Travis Goll who fired his shot past the Hanover goalie.  The Hanover coaching staff would call a time out to settle their players down.  It worked, the Falcon’s would go onto score four consecutive goals in the final moments to win the first game 5-2.

The next afternoon the rematch would take place in Walkerton.  The boys would need a win in order to keep any playoff hopes alive.

The Capitals started the game with an extra jump.  The two teams would each test the opponents goalie requiring some excellent saves on both sides.  Walkerton would open the scoring late in the first period when Travis Goll would score, assists were rewarded to Koby Schmidt and Owen Young.

The second period had each team working hard in the corners and defending well in front of the nets.  No scorning would occur this frame but it wasn’t for lack of trying.  Walkerton lead 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Hanover would come out firing as the third period started but Talan Hope was up to the task of making several key saves.  Travis Goll would score his second of the game with 4:55 remaining after taking a pass from Carson Baglole.  Hanover would score just over a minute later but that’s as close they would come.  Walkerton would win the game 2-1.

A weekend split with Hanover keeps the boys still in contention but will need to win all the remaining games and hope for a few upsets among the other contenders.
