The Walkerton Capitals played the Mount Forest Rams on
November 16, 2016. Walkerton was hoping
to keep its undefeated early season record intact.
The two teams started the game at a slower pace with Walkerton controlling the puck in the offensive zone. The Capitals peppered the Mount Forest net but the goalie was able to stop everything fired his way. Travis Goll was able to fire a shot past the net-minder with 3:21 remaining in the period. Walkerton continued to press and again were rewarded when Mason Lina took a pass from Logan Bradley and found the back of the net with 33.6 seconds left in the first.
The second period was much of the same as the Capitals again controlled the play and tempo of the game. Walkerton Seth Young scored with 6:31 remaining when his shot slid under the stretched out goaltender. The rebound control continued when Logan Bradley scored with 12 seconds remaining when his hard shot caught the corner of the Mount Forest net.
The Capitals exploded for 9 goals in the third period.

A strong defensive game for the Capitals with a team allowing very few rushes into its own zone. The team controlled the play in the offensive zone and were rewarded because of it.
