Busy Weekend for the Walkerton Capitals Novice Rep Team
Walkerton saw lots of action this weekend when they travelled to Brussels and Kincardine.

Saturday the Capitals made their way to Brussels to take on the BBMHA Crusaders. Although the Walkerton forwards had their chances, the Crusaders proved to be a strong physical team and Walkerton fell 5-0.

Sunday our Novice Rep team took on the Kincardine Kinucks at the Davidson Centre.  Walkerton put up a good fight in the first period keeping the score at 0-0.  Walkerton continued to put on the pressure, but solid defence from Kincardine kept Walkerton from only getting on the board once. The goal was scored by Josh Dales, with assists by Scott McTeer and Cobi Johnson.  Ryan Hinsperger had some amazing saves during the game, keeping Kincardine to 5 goals despite all the shots that were made throughout the game.

Monday night the Capitals were back on home ice to take on the Minto Maddogs.  Walkerton came out flying in the first period with several good opportunities by Walkertons forwards. Walkerton was first to get on the board when Parker Elphick chased the puck down in the Minto zone and tucked the puck in for his first of the regular season .  Minto tied it up going into the third period, and then pulled ahead by 1 late in the third.  Walkerton tried to put the pressure on to tie it up, but were unable to.  Ryan Hinsperger again made some unbelievable saves that kept the Capitals in the game.  This was one of the Capitals best games, they showed great team work and hustle.  The teams were evenly matched, and it was an exciting game at both ends.

Walkerton Novice Rep travels to Saugeen Shores on Saturday November 9 to take on the Storm at The Plex and will then host the Storm in Walkerton on Monday November 11, 2013 at 7pm.

Keep up the effort Capitals! GO CAPS GO!
