Walkerton Capitals travelled to Saugeen Shores January 5,
2014 in what was supposed to be a home and away with the Storm. The real storm ended up cancelling the game
that was to take place back in Walkerton on January 6, hope everyone
stayed warm and safe!
Sunday saw an action packed game for the Capitals, who were first on the score board with a nice backhand shot by Josh Dales. Saugeen Shores tied the game in the second period with a power play goal.
The third period saw many great chances for the Capitals, and Walkerton goaltender Ryan Hinsperger kept the Capitals in the game with several awesome saves. The Capitals pulled ahead half way through the period with a goal by Parker Elphick. Saugeen Shores would tie the game only a minute later. Saugeen Shores scored another power play goal on a lucky bounce with one minute to go in the third, it would be there winner. Walkerton came close to tying it up in the last minute of play but a solid Storm goalie made some key saves.
The Capital kids play hard and killed off 4 penalties throughout the game.
The game that was to take place January 6 at 7pm in Walkerton vs Saugeen Shores Storm has been changed to January 13, 2014 at 7pm at the Walkerton arena.
