Walkerton Capitals took on the Minto Mad Dogs Monday
December 23 at home in an exciting game at both ends of the ice.
The first period saw the Capital forwards put lots of pressure on the Mad Dogs and it finally paid off when Cobi Johnson received a great pass from Parker Elphick to score his first of the season. Minto replied quickly with a goal of their own and the first period ended 1-1.
Minto took the lead half way through the second period, but Walkerton answered with only a minute and a half left in the second with a goal by Josh Dales, assisted by Cody McIntyre and Scott McTeer.
The third period saw lots of action by both teams, but had the Capitals slowly pulling away from the Bull Dogs with goals from Cody McIntyre and Jake Zettler, assists from Lucas Bester, Scott McTeer, Josh Dales and Andrew Al.
Ryan Hinsperger made some key saves which kept the game at 4-2 for Walkerton.
