SIlver Stick - Wingham
The McIntee Atom Reps just recently competed in the Wingham Silver Stick this past week with 3 games. As a team we did very well but unfortunately were not able to move on to the semi finals as we finished 6th out of 12 teams.
In our first game we played Mt Forest and fell behind 4 to 0, however late in the 3rd the team scored 3 goals in less than 2 minutes to set up a wild finish as we had the puck in Mt Forest's end for almost 2 minutes but were not able to tie the score, final 4 to 3
In the second game we came up against a very tough Twin Centre team and played an excellent defensive game and scored 2 goals to take a lead, however Twin Centre score two goals in the last 5 minutes to tie the game with the tying goal coming with just over 1 minute remaining. Twin Centre was the defending Champion from last year.
In our third game the team played a good game as we were a little short due to illness but the team came together and beat South Huron 4 to 1.
Overall scoring for the tournament was:
Goals - Aiden Hinsperger (4), Adam Girdler (2), Keaton Eidt, Zach Saunders, Riley Keip
Assists - Adam Girdler (2), Aiden Hinsperger (2), Keaton Eidt (2), Zach Saunders (2), Turner McKenzie, Sky Berfelz, Cameron Klein, Riley Keip
Not getting on the score sheet but playing well were Tyler Folmer and Ryan Fleischauer
Ryan Fotheringham finished the tournament with a GAA of 2.33 with the Twin Centre game being his best game!!
