The Walkerton Capitals Midget Rep Girls played a dominant game at home on Saturday, January 19th at 5:30 p.m., against Windsor Wildcats. While they controlled the majority of the game it ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Capitals took it to Windsor in this fast paced game first
but couldn’t find the back of the net.
The second and third periods were like a rerun of the first with the
Capitals generating numerous scoring chances but not lighting the lamp. The Windsor goalie had cat like reflexes on
some of her saves to keep her team in the game.
The game only saw one penalty overall and that went to the
Capitals. Windsor didn’t do much on the power
play as was the case for most of the game.
Windsor managed to earn a point largely because of their goalie. The Capitals were consistent at both ends of
the rink but were unable to score.
Alyssa Inglis picked up her 10th shutout of the season.
The Capitals game on Sunday against West Huron was
cancelled. The Capitals are at home on
Saturday, January 26th at 4:30 p.m., against West Huron and off to Guelph on
Sunday, January 27th at 5:45 p.m.
