A Marvelous Monday in Mildmay!!
Monday, Jan 14, the Weber's Electric Peewee boys headed south to meet up with the Mildmay team. Walkerton was keen, coming off of a win over Minto the day before. Despite their obvious enthusiasm, this group was not in for an easy ride.
The first period of play left the scoreboard dark, as both goalies were fiercely determined to defend their net.
Deep into to 2nd period Walkerton was rewarded for their work. Max Barclay squeaked a hot one through with help from teammates Curtis Davidson and Matt Engel. Two minutes later, a strong drive by Matt Engel distracted the defense momentarily allowing Curtis to deflect it in. Then came the difficult task of keeping the lead. Thankfully our strong defense answered the call and held strong for Jesse Lamont to claim another shutout.
