RKS Bantam Local League Girls win one, tie one

On Saturday October 22, the Bantam Local League girls travelled to Markdale for their first league game of the season.
The girls put forth a solid effort, defeating the Markdale girls 3-0. Lilly Starling scored the first goal on an unassisted effort in the 2nd period. Emily Cormack scored twice in the third period, the first goal unassisted and the second assisted by Carolyn Gray. Goalie Charlene Sullivan was excellent in earning the shut-out.
On Sun. Oct. 23, the girls hosted Normanby in an exhibition game. The final score was a 3-3 tie. After a scoreless first period, Emily Cormack opened the scoring for the RKS girls in the second period, on a goal assisted by Michelle Bester. After Normanby responded to tie it up in the second, Cormack scored 12 seconds into the third period to get back the lead. Earning assists were Allie Smillie and Michelle Bester. The girls' final goal was scored on a beautiful shot by Michelle Bester assisted by Lilly Starling.
