Walkerton Wins Big after Holiday's
The Walkerton Fritz Novice Rep boys comes out with a win against Mildmay.
Aiden H came to Mildmay to play and scores 5 goals to help Walkerton win over the home team. First period saw Aiden H score his first goal at 7:34 of the period with a lovely pass from our AP player Riley K and Owen C, not long after Aiden H receives a pass from inside Mildmay's end to give the Cap's a 2-0 lead, Walkerton wasn't done yet as Aiden H once again scores with another great pass from our other AP player Bryce Q to give us a 3-0 head start over the Monarch's. Second period saw Mildmay come back and get 2 goals to narrow the gap, but as it was Walkerton wasn't done as Brady K pop's one in with a pass from once again Riley K, the cap's other AP player of Bryce Q receives his goal from a scramble in front of the Mildmay's net with a pass from Davis H.with a 5-2 lead our boy's played a great defensive game holding the line and back checking, Jackson P, Ben F, Keegan Q and Colton R held there ground helping to keep the puck in the Mildmay's end and giving our Goalie Reegan Z a well deserved break. Over the Christmas break our boy's played in the regional Silver Stick Tournament and played 3 games but could not advance to the finals. After defeating Hanover 3-1 on Dec 27th our boys played South Huron Shores and lost 9-0, again the Novice team played a great game but could not keep up to the faster paced opposing team. Dec 28th saw the Cap's playing Ayr in the third and final game of our round robin but Ayr was out for the win and they did win 8-0, and again our guys just couldn't keep up to the faster club, Reegan Z played a very good tournament and winning a MVP award, with all said our team did very well, and deserves great credit on playing a good tournament. Back to the game at hand, saw third period action mostly in The Mildmay end as Owen C pop's two in Kelly receives his second of the game, Aiden H gets two more and again our AP player of Riley K assist's 4 of the 5 goals and Owen C also helps. The Cap's played an aggressive game both by forechecking and coming back to help our defense. final score was 10-4 for our Fritz Novice Rep's, Go Cap's Go !!!!
