WDC Midget Reps Win Pair at Home
The Walkerton Dental Centre Midget Rep Boys won a pair of  games at home in recent WOAA league hockey over Arran-Elderslie on November 08, and a close one against  Shallow Lake on November 15th.

First period action on the 8th saw both teams coming out strong with scoring opportunities at both ends, but the scoreboard would remain blank for the entire 15 minutes. Walkerton opened things up in the second when winger Jr. Berberich scored, unassisted, on a wrist shot from just over the opposing blue line. Six minutes later the visitors evened it up, sending the game into the third at a deadlock. Two minutes into the period, Arran-Elderslie doubled their score to take the lead but WDC Reps followed with a quick shot up the middle by Patrick Walsh on an assist from Andy Beadle. The pace picked up as every player looked to score the tie breaker. With five minutes remaining, Walkerton captain Jake Barclay chipped in the winning goal from the side of the visitors net. Strong defensive play for the remainder of the game sealed the well-deserved victory.
The following Monday night,  the Capitals faced off against the Shallow Lake Lakers. Walkerton started out strong with a back-handed goal from John Ringel, assisted by Logan Kritz and Sean Walsh. Minutes later, defenceman Callum Schaus increased the lead with assists going to Barclay and Matt Engel. The visitors answered with a marker of their own,  but with seconds to play in the period Barclay added another goal on assists from Schaus and Lance Rock. The home team would see their lead disappear as the opposition scored the only goal in the second period then tied the game early into the third. The match appeared to be headed for a draw but, with 12 seconds left on the clock, passes from Beadle and Barclay reached  Engel who scored a dramatic game- winning goal to down the Lakers 3-2.
