Cuneo's Win and move on.
it was a very exciting weekend for the Cuneo boys,as it came down to the wire to move on!
Saturdays game saw Mt forest coming to town and the boys were determined to win at home,the first period didn't look promising as the Rams took the lead, but our guys were not discouraged and JP Kunkel started it off with a shoot from the point and putting it in low thru the 5 hole with a pass from Tristen Zettel and Austin Kelly, to tie the game at 1-1 we weren't done yet as Zettel scored unassisted only two minutes later. The team seemed to have gotten a spark as everyone started playing a great game of hockey,with only 1.2 seconds left in the period Zettel scores again with a lovely pass from (Ace) Jarred Pletch and Cody Jones. Third period action saw the Rams forchecking aggressively and making our team receive allot of penalties,but that didn't matter to the Cuneo team as Mac Mcteer put two more goals on the board unassisted from our end in an open net, giving us the victory 5-1. Sundays game saw us in Mt Forest for the last game of Playoffs and it was do or die for the Cuneo team the first period was very strong defensive playing by both clubs, it wasn't until Austin Kelly started things up and gave the Cuneo team a 1-0 lead with a pass from Brett Wagner to rally the boys. The second and third periods saw our team on the offensive and also taking allot of penalties, but fortunately our Goal Tender Calder Davidson was on the top of his game and stoned the Rams each time they came close. Our second goal came from Mac Mcteer with a pass from Zettel to give us the advantage of being up by two. The third period saw our AP's of Brady Kelly on defensive and Connor Mcteer pick up the pace and rallied the boys too score,play hard,and of course have fun. our AP Connor Mcteer scored our fourth goal unassisted as he planted one in on a hard drive to the net, the last goal came from our centreman Austin with a behind the back, back handed shot with a pass from Connor to give us the win that would put us out of reach for the Rams to catch up. As promised by the head coach, I let the boys Die my beard hot pink and parade around the arena and i was very proud to do so because the team deserved the honor of this, GREAT JOB BOYS!!!!
