The Two Town Teams Meet
It was a great game amongst the two Atom L L teams in Walkerton as the Cuneo team and the Prestige team were ready for the BIG Game.
First period action saw great defensive playing by both sides and it took most of the period to see a goal,and it came in by our defensemen Mac Mcteer as he saw the open net and took the shot,the pass came from Austin Kelly and Joel Pletch.Both sides were very hungry for the win, but our team played a very strong game and Calder Davidson was again a stand up net minder holding his own and not giving up to many rebounds.As the game proceeded things got a little intense as the Prestige team poured on the afterburners and proceeded to close up the gap by popping one in behind our goalie,that seemed to have sparked our forwards to strive a little harder and the Pletch twins along with Wagner and Mckee played a very aggressive game, holding the Prestige team to the outside and coming back and giving the defense some help. Tristen Zettel seemed to bring his game on and went on the Prtestige Goalie and scored with passes from Mcteer and Joel Pletch to bring the Cuneo team up by one goal.Third period action saw the Cuneo team taking some penalties and playing most of the third period short handed, but with the practices of playing their positions, our specialty team held the other Walkerton team scoreless after their fist goal. Zettel again made sure that the Cunei team had a stronger led by getting his second goal of the game with a pass from Jarred Pletch.Both teams played a very strong defensive game and the goaltender from both clubs saved the game from being a high scoring.GREAT JOB WALKERTON.
