Langs work hard in Cambridge Tournament
The Langs Midget Girls “C” team has had a busy schedule lately, starting on Jan. 6 with a game in Mildmay. Determined to beat these tough rivals, Langs played quite the game, skating away with a 3-3 tie. Scoring for Walkerton were Christina Kaufman with two and Alison Elphick chipping one in. Assists went to Jill Pitt and Leticia Barber. This game prepared Langs well for the Cambridge Roadrunners Tournament the following weekend, Jan. 9-11. The first game was a bit rocky for Langs, faced against the strong St. Clair team, who eventually went on to win the whole tournament. Langs lost 7-0 but decided to turn things around in their next game that same night. Langs played a much better game this time against home team Cambridge, hanging in for the entire game but coming up short with a 1-0 loss. In their final game, Langs played Brantford who scored early in the first period. Langs battled back the entire game and with two minutes left in the third period, Pitt found the net, assisted by Kelly Scheuerman and Katie Pegelo. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
