RKS Beats Normanby by Marisa Dales
On Sunday, January 25 the Walkerton RKS bantam girls played Normanby. It was a tough game but RKS never gave up. In the first period Reshay Sullivan held strong in the net, keeping the score 0-0. RKS was determined to fight for the puck. In the second period, about two minutes in, Marisa Dales put Walkerton on the score board with a pass from Adrianna Droefke, making the score 1-0 for Walkerton.
It wasn’t even 4 minutes later when Droefke put one in the net with
assists from Jenah VanLoon and Heather Kelly. Kelsey Miller, Melissa
Girdler and Rachel Anstett, did an excellent job keeping the puck out
of RKS’s end.
Going into the third RKS,was up 2-0 but Karleigh Shaidle, Kailtin
Dosman, Jessica Dredge and Ashley Miller didn’t stop playing hard. They
all had many good passes, and shots on net. Entering the third Droefke
came up with another goal, assisted by VanLoon. Normanby fought back
and managed to get one in. The third period ended in a 3-1 win for RKS.
