Davidson Gets Shutout #2 For Cuneo Atoms
Cuneo Atoms hosted our home game against Mount Forest Sunday morning.  With music blaring in the Cuneo changeroom, and the excitement of the team, you knew we were in for a great game.  And Cuneo didn't disappoint, walking away with a 5 nothing win.

Cuneo came out in the first period strong, strong enough to keep Mount Forest at bay but didn't show all they had until midway through the first period; taking time to read how this strong skating, and purposeful passing team from Mount Forest played.  Once they figured that out they were off to the races.
Throughout this game we saw excellent passing from team members to open forwards, and some very affective defence that halted this determined Mount Forest team.  Cuneo drew their first goal with a rush made by Jacob Weber, who found a well placed Chris Cormack in front of the net, Cormack made his shot and put Cuneo on the board.  During this game Cormack would end the day with four of the five goals.  Cuneo continued their drives at the net, continued to pass well finding the open man, and kept their defensive lines stringent.  After a tussle against the board Connor Johnson worked his way through with the puck, crossed the blue line with Cormack driving to the net with him, shot and was denied the goal but the well position Cormack was there to cash in on the drive.  Giving Connor the assist and Cormack his second goal.  Cuneo's third goal was shot in with a beautiful five-hole shot by defenceman MacKenzie McTeer.  McTeer, alone, drove hard to the Mount Forest net and shot one past their goalminder from the righthand side.  Cuneo was up three nothing at this point in the game.
Although Cuneo was hampered with penalties during this game, it didn't dampen their spirits; they dug in their heels and worked that much harder;  with great showings by Cody Jones and Brennan Wagner holding the defensive lines.  Cuneo ended the game with Mount Forest with another 2 goals in the third, both driven home by Chris Cormack, one of which was assisted by JP Kunkel.  Sending Mount Forest back home with a loss and Davidson with his second shutout.
