Leslie Motors, U9, 2008-2009 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

What a game!!!!!What a game!!!!! What a Game!!!!! What else can I say.  The Leslie Novices were "On Fire" (as Coach Dave would say) when they visited Wallace on Saturday January 31. Matt M. played an amazing game in goal holding Wallace to a single goal in the first period. He was assisted by  the superior defensive play shown by Thomas C., Christian K., Ryan L. and  Bailey M.This foursome did not give up for even a second in the entire game. They chased down the opposition any way they could, then finished by showing they can stick check with the best of them.

The Leslie Novices had a busy weekend, playing Listowel twice over the weekend. In the first game on Saturday in Listowel, this game was filled with lots of scoring chances. Persistence paid off in the third period when the Supercrew came back strong with three goals to bring the game within 2. Jordan B. led off the scoring with an unassisted goal, followed by Noah C., assisted by Jordan B. and Thomas C.. The third goal of the game was an unassisted goal by Thomas C.. The Leslie Novices had a busy weekend, travelling to Hanover and Harriston. One of the weekend highlights was a Hat Trick by Jordan B. on Saturday. Brett W. had one goal in Sundays game. The weekend also saw the debut of Ryan L. in Goal. Ryan did a great job cutting down the angles, holding Hanover to 1 goal in both the first and second periods. Matt M. had two strong games on defense, consistantly showing great hustle. Also showing great hustle were Thomas C. and Brina H. The Leslie Novices played another great game. The SuperCrew were led this week by Brett W. who had a great game ,.scoring at the 9:13 mark of the second period. Brett's goal was followed with a goal from Jordan B. (His Second of the Year)at the 5:40 mark of the second. Also playing a great game at offesive was Gordon M. (with at least one shot on goal in the third); Brina H. (one of our three stars this week):Samantha S. (working very hard at her skating) and Lily H. ( getting right in there). The Crew worked really hard in the third period but just couln't get one past the Wallace Goalie.

The Leslie Novices got off to a great start today despite a 5-1 loss to Mountforest. Leading Leslie's offensively were Jordon B. with one goal, Brett W. and Gordon M. Bailey M. made his debute as goalie giving up only 1 goal in the first two periods. Good Job Bailey!!
