Hanover @ Tim Hortons Yellow (Great Time Had By All)
Today our Tim Horton Yellow Tykes faced a strong Hanover Tyke team. There has always been a strong rivalry between these two centers, however our team wasn’t scared. With a “Go Yellow Lightning!” battle cry our squad readied themselves for the challenge. Looking down the bench everyone brought their game faces. Coach Donnelly had them ready to go. You could feel the tension in the air. The crowd fell silent, the kids mouth guards were clenched tight, sticks were on the ice, all eyes were focused at center ice. The puck dropped... The game was on!! From that point on there was nothing but smiles on the bench as everybody was having fun playing a game they all love. Parents were cheering for both sides as the action went end to end. On the Walkerton squad Eryn Vaughan scored her first career goal. Other players having a great time out there were Jenna Fotheringham who skated hard and made a number of defensive plays to help keep the puck out of our net. Also Stephanie Young, Matthew Donnelly, Jayce Busby all were passing the puck like pros. Nathaniel Illerbrunn, Clayton Troy, Ben Flieischauer, Courtney Fritz and Keegan Quish all contributed to the overall success of our first game vs. an outside center.
