Easthill Novice Girls place 3rd at the Stratford Tournament, November 9-11
Our Novice Girls travelled to Stratford, hungry for thier first win of the season, and weren't dissappointed.

Friday November 9th our girls traveled to Stratford to face off with Illderton.  The girls were ready for a win, and they were not disappointed.  Their first game of the season against a Novice team, our Novice girls played together and came out on top in an impressive 6-1 win.
Ally B, #12 started things off in the first period, with a pass from Bailey T, #3.  Shortly after Erika S, #7, put one past with help from Emily E, #9 and #14, Courtney B.  Illderton then answered back with a goal in the first, but goalie Georgina M, #30 played an outstanding game and  held them off for the rest of the game.
Jordenne V, #8 was able to shoot one past unassisted on a faceoff, quickly followed up by Krista K, #11 getting a goal, assisted by Jordenne V, #8.  Then it was Jordenne V, #8 again, assisted by Krista K, #11 and #4, Sophie B.  Final goal of the game was scored by Brooklyn S, #17 who was helped out by #12, Ally B and #3 Bailey B.

Saturday, November 10th, our Easthill Novice Girls faced off against Stratford.  This team proved to be a little more difficult, and our girls could not seem to figure out the goalie, not for lack of trying.  Our goaltender Georgina M, #30 made a valiant effort, but the game ended in a disappointing 6-0 loss.  However our girls were firm in their belief that they could win on Sunday and make it to the finals.

Sunday, November 11th, we met Lucan at the rink.  Our girls knew that they had to win the game, or they were going home.  They started the game strong, everyone played together, and they kept the play in Lucan's end.  Near the end of the first period, Lucan sent a hard shot past our goaltender and it was 1-0.  Goalie Georgina M, #30 played a great game, and did not let anything else past.  We stayed at 1-0 until 10:17 in the 3rd period, when defence player Courtney W, #2, took the puck, unassisted down the ice and tied the game!!  Our girls fought hard and shot after shot was smothered by the Lucan goalie.  With 2 minutes left in the game, coach Albin Spitzig pulled our goalie off to try and break the tie.  But the Lucan goalie proved to be too much, and the game ended in a 1-1 tie, with Lucan moving on to the finals, by having less goals against in the tournament.

We are proud of every one of the girls on our team, everyone played great in the tournament, and we all learned a little as well.  Congrats to all of the girls that got their first goals of the season!
