Saturday January 12th Durham Tournament Game #2
Walkerton vs. Essa Loss 2 - 0
After advancing to the championship side of the tournament our McIntee Atom Capitals faced an unknown team from close to Barrie, Essa. This game was fast past back and forth right from the start with both teams not giving an inch. Ryan Bester made save after save taking the game into the third period scoreless even when we were down two players on an Essa power play. His play earned him the games MVP for our team. Gongratulations Ryan!! However the game was not to be ours as midway in the third just after killing another penalty we couldn’t gain control and Essa netted the game winning goal. One minute later they scored again on a questionable call where it appeared the puck was pushed in after the whistle had blown. Either way the damage was done and although never giving up we couldn’t get one past there MVP winning goaltender either. Playing well this game was Luke Zettler, Justin Donnelly, Bailey Zettler, Tyson Goetz and Matt Lang.
