Leslie Novices, U9, 2007-2008 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

We are back! Sorry fans, for the lack of update regarding the Leslie Motors Novice team. We are in our round robin playoff against Minto, Mount Forest, Drayton, and Mildmay. Our team has improved immensely from only winning one game in the regular season to going 4-0 before a heartbreaking loss in overtime to Mildmay. Therefore, our record stands at 4-1 with the four wins being 3-1 against Mount Forest, 4-1 against Minto, 4-2 against Drayton, and another win 5-4 against Minto. This past weekend proved to be a busy one for the Leslie Motors novice team. After a hard practice on Friday the local boys took on Durham in a mid afternoon game. This game stayed very close with the boys working very hard until the final buzzer, but the third period proved to be to much when Durham pulled ahead to stay. Scoring for Walkerton was Michael M and Noah L with nice assists from Jordan B, Tristan Z, and Brett W. Ryan G played very well turning away many Durham chances. After a long anticipated wait, the Leslie Motors novice boys teams season finally began when Drayton came to town. This was drama at its finest as there was end to end action during all three periods. All of the players had fun and worked extremely hard but were unable to solve the Drayton netminder. The good news was Drew C. also was unstoppable, therefore, the teams skated to a 0-0 tie. Noah L. was all over the ice and had multiple breakaways but came away empty handed.
