Novice Rep, U9 (Novice), 2007-2008 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

We played Saugeen Shores in the first game of our home and home and the Fritz Concrete boys came out flying and built up a 2-0 lead on goals by C. Buehlow assisted by B.Mckenzie and the second goal also scored by C. Buehlow assisted by C.Cormack. Saugeen came back and tied it up but H. Zettler scored a power play goal to put us up 3-2. Saugeen came back and took the lead with 5 minutes left in the game.After calling a timeout and pulling the goalie J. Spitzig jammed one by the goalie with 50 seconds left in the game with the assists going to C. Buehlow and C.Cormack. An excellent game was ...

The boys played there best game of the year against one of the top teams when Mitchell came to town. Again the play went end to end and the game remained scoreless until the 3rd period when Mitchell got one by A. Quish. Another one fell out of his glove made it 2-0 but the boys played hard and were rewarded when B.Mckenzie's shot on net was stopped but J.Spitzig put it over the goalie with 3 minutes left in the game. The Fritz Concrete boys kept coming but were stopped by the strong goaltending of Mitchell. They scored with a minute left in the game to make it a 3-1 final.

The Fritz Concrete came out and faced a much improved team from Kincardine. The game was end to end with both goalies playing an excellent game. The Walkerton boys kept coming and wiht 5 minutes left in the game C. Cormack went in on break away from center ice passed up by B.Mckenzie and put one through the dreaded 5 hole and A. Quish kept the score 1-0 as he recorded his 3rd shutout in 4 games this year.

The Fritz Concrete Rep Boys travelled to Mt. Forest for a game and some skills competition. D. Weiler & B. McKenzie were entered in the speed skating, C. Buehlow & H. Zettler were entered in the shooting accuracy, and J. Spitzig & C. Cormack were entered in the strongest shot. All the boys performed very well with C. Buehlow tying in the shooting accuracy and J.Spitzig taking a win for Walkerton in the strongest shot.

The Fritz Concrete boys travelled to Hanover on Saturday for a game against Hanover. The game was end to end and Hanover scored first but the boys skated hard and were rewarded with there first goal when Jake S put one by to tie the game. The game remained deadlocked until Hunter Z got by the defense and put one up and over into the top corner to put the local boys up 2 to 1. Calder D played solid in net the rest of the way and the boys skated off with the victory.
