Novice LL, U9, 2013-2014 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

Friday night the Capitals were hosted by South Bruce at the Teeswater ice.  Walkerton fell short with a 3-0 score at the top of the 3rd period, but pulled off a tie in an exciting last three minutes of the game.  Saturday morning we took to our home ice against Howick.  Walkerton won 6-0.  Way to go Walkerton.  This coming weekend the Caps will take part in the Durham Novice tournament.

This past weekend the Novice LL took to the Tara ice for what would be a full day of action, excitement and personal bests.  The first game against Saugeen Shores #4 started the day with a 6-2 win for the Caps.  Game 2 against another Saugeen Shores team ended with a score of 3-2 with a shoot out win for the Capitals.  The finals brought Shallow Lake head to head with the Caps and we managed to come out on top with a 4-2 win awarding us the tournament champions. Way to go Walkerton!

Walkerton Novice LL hosted Minto Mad Dogs on Saturday January 4.  In a fast paced end to end game Walkerton showed great D2D passing, strong skating and quick goaltending leading them to a 5-1 win over the Mad Dogs.  Way to go Capitals!  They are looking forward to participating in the Tara tournament this weekend.  Go Walkerton!

The Novice LL Team played hard today with some great plays by both the forward and defensive lines. Final score 9-1 for Walkerton. 

Cole Saunders scored 4 goals.  Emma Ohagan scored 3 goals.  Tyler Wallace scored 1 goal.  Natasha Pletch scored 1 goal.  Number 3 also scored 1 goal.  Great defensive play and great goal tending by Kyle Zettler made for a great game for Walkerton.  Desboro scored one goal and walkerton also had 2 penalties.
