Jan 26th Game #3 @ Goderich Win 7 - 3!!!!
Can anybody tell me what just happened. I drove my son to the new Goderich arena to play Goderich's Bantam Rep Boys in a must win game for us to stay in the OMHA Playoffs. I got there dropped him off watched the NHL All Star draft for a bit, someone told me the game was about to start, so I went out to the seats to watch the game. However our boys must have been trucked to the old arena to play as the team that was wearing the Capital Jerseys beat the home team 7-3!! I'm not sure if our boys scored seven goals all season let alone in one game!!! Excellent Game everyone!!
All joking aside the Goderich team already had this game won on paper and were wondering how they will play the next round. Well apparently our Capitals didn't see things in the same light and decided they weren't done beating on these boys from Goderich just yet. Not the tightest game by all but they got the job done. Goderich opened the scoring first at the 11minute mark. We seem to like toying with our prey a little, giving them a false sense of security and visions of grandeur before we crush their dreams. To play with their heads a little we scored the next two goals to take the lead. One at the 4 minute mark by Matt Lang with an assist from Tyler Goetz and the other at the 3 minute mark by Brayden Davidson with assist from Tyson MacLellan and Tyler Goetz. We let them get it back quickly ( 7 seconds later to be exact) though as we didn't want them to panic just yet. Then to set the trap we let them get one more with just 2.5 seconds to go so Goderich had the lead 3 - 2 after one period of play.
In the second period we gave them something to ponder early on at the 12 minute mark as Brayden Davidson got his second of the night assisted again by Tyson MacLellan and Tyler Goetz. No more scoring happened in the second as Ryan Bester shut the door on any attempt Goderich threw his way.
Ahhh the 3rd period....... Now we were done messing around. with the Captain leading the way scoring 3 goals in succession, one at the 9 minute mark assisted by Brayden Davidson and Tyler Goetz, one more at the 4 minute mark this time only assisted by Davidson and completing the hat trick at the 2 minute mark assisted once again assisted by Davidson and Goetz our boys put this game out of reach for the Sailors. With only 7 seconds left in the game Brayden Davidson completed his hat trick as well with a goal assisted by Kyle Vaughan and Kyle Paulitzki to put the game away. The only thing we didn't win tonight was the penalty race we lost this for the first time this year 3 - 2. LOL
The final game is back home on Sunday Spread the word and get a good home crowd in attendance for this match up!!
