Walkerton Minor Hockey has secured some ice time and will be hosting some Power Skating/Skills clinics this winter at the PWU Center. These clinics will be run by volunteer coaches and a power skating coach and the intent is to provide some additional ice time for players who want to power skate and improve their skating abilities and also work on their individual skills. The details of the clinics are as follows:
When: Thursday's starting November 28th until the ice disappears at the PWU Center.
Time: The times are split as follows: Novice(2010-2011)/Atom aged players: Bi-Weekly starting Thursday November 28th from 7-8pm. Peewee/Bantam/Midget aged players: Weekly starting Thursday November 28th from 8-9pm.
Who's invited?: All Novice (2010/2011) up to Midget players registered with Walkerton Minor Hockey only.
Does it cost anything?: No cost
Does my kid need to Sign up?: Yes. I will be posting 2 sign up sheets weekly on the bulletin board at the main arena. This is to give me an idea how many want to attend and plan accordingly.
This is something new that we are trying and I hope there is a good turnout for this. My intent is for the kids to improve themselves and one day be better players while having fun at the same time.
We could always use an extra set of hands on the ice with setting up the drills and keep things running smooth. If anyone has some time to spare to lend a hand please give me a heads up. Also if anyone has a kid in high school or know someone who wants to put in some volunteer hours this is the perfect opportunity. My contact info is listed below.
Look forward to getting things started!
