Game 16 vs. Saugeen Shores Storm #1
Submitted By Gerald McNaughton on Sunday, February 2, 2020
The Walkerton Capitals would travel to Southampton on January 23, 2020 to play the Saugeen Shores Storm #1.  Walkerton would be short several players and line juggling would be necessary throughout the game.

The Storm would open the scoring just 1 minute into the opening period.  Walkerton would respond midway through the period when Cayleb Peitz would make a rush from his own end and break in alone on the goaltender before lifting the puck into the top corner.  The game would be tied at 1-1 after completion of the first period.

In the second period the Storm would erupt with 4 goals to break the game wide open.  Add another 3 goals in the third period and the Storm would dominant the score board with an 8-1 final score.

The game while not pretty on the scoreboard did have some outstanding backchecking for most of the Walkerton players.  Saugeen Shores would fire pucks from every angle and the score would have been higher if not for some great saves from Ryan in the Walkerton net.
