Season ends in a 3-3 tie
The season is over for the Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys.

The home team skated to a 3-3 tie against the visiting Shallow Lake Lakers on March 7. Walkerton ended the playoff run with a record of 4-2-2 (10 points), good enough for third place in the northern loop. Shallow Lake finished second with 14 points, while the Saugeen Shores Storm topped the standings with 18 points.

The final game of the season was a nail-biter for Walkerton fans. The Capitals held a 3-1 lead going into the third, after Tyler Wallace, Kyle Romphf and Brayden Grife each scored in the second period. Assists went to Aragon Karn and Cobi Johnson. Shallow Lake rallied with two late goals to even the score, and a 10-minute overtime period left the game knotted at 3-3.

Walkerton players earned 12 penalties in the game while the Lakers took 14.

The bantams' overall season record stands at 18-12-3. Goalie Ryan Hinsperger had a save percentage of 92% with three shutouts. Romphf tallied 36 points on the season, followed by Johnson with 24 and Cayleb Peitz with 19.

The team was coached by Troy Bohnert. Kevin McTeer served as assistant coach, with Doug Brandt acting as trainer and Lisa Hinsperger as manager.
