The Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys recorded a win, loss
and tie over the Christmas break.
The 2-2 tie came Dec. 17 when the Capitals hosted the Hanover Falcons. Liam Osborne and Cobi Johnson scored for Walkerton, with assists by Brayden Grife, Cayleb Peitz and Kyle Romphf.
On Dec. 22, the local boys skated to a 4-1 loss at home against the second-place AEMHA Ice Dogs. Peitz netted the only goal for Walkerton, on a pass from Grife and Aragon Karn.
The Capitals fared better on Dec. 29, beating the TDCMHA Rebels by a score of 7-1. Johnson and Scott McTeer scored two apiece with single markers by Romphf, Kody Brown and Peitz. Assists were recorded by Johnson (2), Romphf (2), McTeer and Ryan Graul. Ryan Hinsperger picked up the win in net.
Walkerton is now in sixth place in the 13-team northern loop with a regular season record of 8-7-1. The boys are back on the ice Jan. 12 when they travel to Kincardine for a 7:30 pm start against the Kinucks #1.
