Bantam LL boys off to a 2-2 start
The Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys are posting a 2-2 record after the opening games of the regular season.


The home team defeated the Owen Sound Junior Attack #1 on Oct. 2, skating to a 4-2 win. The boys lost by the same margin when they hosted the Saugeen Shores Storm #1 on Oct. 14.
In action Oct. 20 in Owen Sound, the Capitals fell 5-3 to the Junior Attack #2. Kyle Romphf earned a hat trick for the visitors, with assists from Cobi Johnson, Tayt Weber and Alex Brandt.
Walkerton fared better the following day in Port Elgin, beating the Storm #2 with a 6-1 final. Romphf scored three times again, with single markers by Scott McTeer, Brayden Grife and Aragon Karn. Assists went to Cayleb Peitz, Ryan Graul and Grife. Ryan Hinsperger picked up the win in net.
The Capitals are coached by Troy Bohnert. Kevin McTeer and Grant Wallace are assistant coaches, with Doug Brandt and Lisa Hinsperger acting as trainer and manager.
The bantam LL boys are back on the ice this weekend, playing in Hanover against the Falcons at 5:10 pm.
