Game 5 vs. Hanover Falcons
The Walkerton Capitals would travel East along Highway 4 to play the Hanover Falcons as part of Hockey Day in Hanover on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018. As is usually the case when the two teams meet this game would be closely contested with some fine outstanding goaltending and plays at both ends of the rink.

Walkerton would open the scoring just 10 seconds into the game when Kyle Graul would come down the right wing and slip the puck under the Hanover goalie.  The teams would battle back and forth throughout the remainder of the period but at the sound of the buzzer the score would be 1-0 in favour of the Capitals.

The second period started and again the Capitals would strike early.  When just a minute and a half into the frame Cody McIntyre would tally a goal after his wrist shot found the back of the net.  Hanover would respond half way through the period with a goal of their own to cut into the lead the period would wrap up with the Capitals holding a 2-1 lead.

The third period and Hanover would come out strong.  The Falcons would tie the game early in the third and then take the lead just 2 minutes later.  The teams would continue to battle in a sea saw tilt.  With time winding down the Capitals would continue to pressure and Kyle Graul would tally his second goal of the game after his shot found the top corner to tie the score.  Hanover would then score on the power play with just under a minute remaining.  Walkerton would not give up until the final whistle and would come close to evening up the score with only seconds remaining.  Hanover would go on to win the game but kudos to the Capitals for not giving up and showing the strength to battle hard.

Another solid performance from the team.  The cycle game continues to improve while the passing game seems to get better with each game.  An outstanding performance from all the boys kept the crowd entertained throughout the game.
