Playoffs Game #4 vs. AEMHA Ice Dogs
The Walkerton Capitals would host Game 4 of the WOAA Playoffs against the AEMHA Ice Dogs on Saturday, February 17th.  Because of ice constraints in Walkerton the game would be moved to the Mildmay-Carrick arena for the second meeting of the two teams in four days.

The first period would see the Capitals control much of the play in the Arran-Elderslie zone.  Again and again shots would be fired on goal but any that did make it through to the net would either be covered up or steered harmlessly to the corner.  The Ice Dog team played a solid period in front of their net-minder blocking many of the Walkerton attempts.  There would be no scoring during the first period of play.

On the start of the second period would see each team make valiant attempts to break the scoreless draw.   The two goalies would each make several outstanding saves and again as the period ended it would remain knotted at 0-0.

The third period would start with the Capitals applying constant pressure on the Ice Dogs net.  They would be rewarded with 8:03 remaining when Walkerton’s Scott McTeer would intercept an Ice Dogs pass and send it up to Carson Filsinger who would then saucer pass the puck to Cayleb Peitz who would fire a shot from the top of the face-off circle that would beat the Ice Dogs net-minder.  Walkerton would add a second goal with 5:21 remaining when some hard work along the blue line and in the offensive zone by Keegan Batte and Colby Schmidt would see a pass go to Kyle Romphf who would score top corner.  Arran-Elderslie would get one back just over a minute later to cut the Walkerton lead in half.  The scoring would continue when just 20 seconds later Walkerton would tally yet again.  Cayleb Peitz would score his second of the game after jumping on a loose puck in front of the net, assisting on the play were Matthew McNaughton and Scott McTeer.

Walkerton would respond with a solid game where everyone would play hard.  The boys would chase loose pucks and the back-checking was great.  The win moves the boys to 2 and 2 early in this playoff round.
