Exhibition Game #1 vs. Kincardine Kinucks #2
The Walkerton Capitals Peewee LL team would travel to Kincardine on Sunday, October 1st for an exhibition game against the Kincardine Kinucks #2 team.  The game was fast paced from the opening puck drop until the final buzzer.

The Kincardine team would pressure Walkerton early in the first period while holding the puck in the Walkerton zone.  Goaltender Ryan Hinsperger was called upon to make several key saves early in the game. Kincardine would score with 1:15 seconds remaining in the first period when a low wrist shot would find the back of the net.  The period would come to an end with the Capitals trailing 1-0 to a strong Kincardine team.

The start of the second period had the Walkerton Capitals come out with an extra step in their stride as they took play to the Kincardine zone.  Some excellent passing and breakout rushes kept the puck inside the Kincardine end.  The Capitals would tie the game just over 5 minutes into the period when Kyle Romphf took a pass from Colby Schmidt and fired a wrist shot just over the glove of the Kincardine goalie.  Walkerton would score again less than 30 seconds later when a streaking Tyler Wallace would take a pass from Keegan Batte and slip the puck into the back of the net.  The Capitals would add a third goal 2 minutes later when Kyle Romphf would score his second of the game after taking a pass from Tyler Wallace.  After two period of play Walkerton would lead 3-1.

The third period would see the two teams continue with their back and forth play with each goaltender making some fine stops.  Kincardine would score with just over a minute remaining in the game to cut into the Walkerton lead.  Kincardine would continue to pressure in the dieing seconds forcing Ryan to make several excellent saves.  The Walkerton defence would clear the puck into the corner and out of harms way as the final buzzer sounded and Walkerton would record its first victory of the season.

Walkerton would play a strong game throughout from a solid defensive core to a fast moving forward group that had great rushes and clean and precise passing.
