The
Walkerton Capitals have won two of their last three playoff games in the
opening round of bantam LL post-season action.
Braydan Grife scored a hat trick for the visiting Capitals as they defeated the Owen Sound Junior Attack #1 on Feb. 16 by a 6-3 margin. Luke Schmidt, Logan Morrison and Keaton Eidt rounded out the scoring, with assists by Dylan Reay, Craig Reaman, Eidt, Schmidt and Tate Elphick.
Walkerton suffered a narrow 4-3 loss at home on Feb. 25, falling to the Owen Sound Junior Attack #2 team. Eidt netted two markers for the Capitals while Reaman tallied a single goal. Schmidt, Alex Brandt, Nick Holman and Elphick earned the helpers.
Four goals by Eidt and three each from Schmidt and Reaman then lifted the Capitals to a 13-3 win over the Junior Attack #1 on Feb. 26. Single goals were scored by Tyler Crummer, Grife and Simon Field. Assists went to Crummer (3), Alex Kunkel (3), Eidt (3), Schmidt (2), Holman (2), Grife (2), Morrison, Reaman and Reay. Lucas Rowe picked up the win in net.
The Capitals will now face the Sepoys in Lucknow on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., followed by a game in Owen Sound against the Junior Attack #2 on Sunday, March 4 at 5 p.m.
