After
losing back to back games to the first place AEMHA Ice Dogs (6-1) and the
Hanover Falcons (2-6), the Walkerton Capitals were ready for a win last weekend
in bantam LL regular season action.
The visiting Capitals skated hard in Owen Sound on Friday to take an 8-2 decision from the hosting Junior Attack team. Keaton Eidt played a solid game for Walkerton, scoring four times. Braydan Grife scored twice for the Capitals with Kobe Dautey and Logan Morrison adding single markers. Morrison, Nick Holman, Tyler Crummer and Craig Reaman picked up the assists.
Peewee AP Ryan Hinsperger earned the win in net.
It was a different story Saturday and Sunday however, as the Capitals fell 8-1 to the Kincardine Kinucks, and 8-2 to the TCDMHA Rebels in Markdale. Simon Field scored the lone goal for Walkerton on Saturday while Luke Schmidt and Eidt scored on Sunday.
With one regular season game left before the playoffs, Walkerton will be looking to strengthen its power play. The local boys are currently tied for 9th place in the 13 team league, with a win-loss-tie record of 5-13-1.
