Bantams are 1-2-1 on the season
The Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys team opened the season Oct. 21 with a 6-4 win on the road against Owen Sound.

Tayt Weber scored the team’s first goal in the opening frame but Owen Sound evened it up before the break. The home team took a 2-1 lead early in the second but goals by Tate Elphick and Alex Kunkel put the visitors back on top after two.

Owen Sound rallied in the third with two more goals but Walkerton’s Kobe Dautey, Nick Holman and Keaton Eidt with an empty netter sealed the 6-4 victory. Assists in this game went to Craig Reaman, Dylan Reay, Braydan Grife, Logan Morrison, Eidt and Luke Schmidt. Lucas Rowe recorded the win in net for the Capitals.

In their first home game of the season Oct. 22, Walkerton skated to a 4-4 tie against the Hanover Falcons. Dautey scored twice for the Capitals with single markers from Schmidt and Morrison. Elphick, Weber, Grife, Holman and Tyler Crummer picked up the assists.

Walkerton suffered its first loss of the season Oct. 28 in Tara. The Capitals fell 5-3 to the host team with Reaman, Eidt and Schmidt scoring for Walkerton. Helpers went to Grife, Morrison, Holman and Elphick.

In action at home Oct. 30, the visiting AEMHA Ice Dogs shut out the Capitals 6-0.
