Home Opener
First game at home and the Midget Boys Rep came out to play.
The Midget Rep boys hosted Goderich Monday night in Walkerton at our first regular season game at home. It didn't take long for the boys to open up the score, within the first 2 minutes of the game Walkerton came in deep and put one in pass the Goderich sailors goalkeeper, the score remained 1-0 until around the 8 minute mark, once again the Cap's scored making it a 2-0 game, unfortunately for the Sailors, Walkerton was in it for the long haul, scoring again in the 1st period making it 3-0 after 1.
Period 2 was all Capital's potting 4 goals, as this period progressed Goderich drew numerous penalties by not being able to contain our boy's from their well disciplined style of play, after 2 periods of end to end hockey the Walkerton Capital's are up 7-0.
Period 3 saw no scoring for the Cap's as they were holding a commanding lead, but the Sailor's were not finished, around the 11 minute mark Goderich broke the shut out of our goaltender, then not long after Goderich breaks in and puts one more behind our net minder making it 7-2, both teams came out playing a solid third period only having a couple penalties and playing fast, aggressive, quick passing end to end hockey, but unfortunately to little to late for the visiting team to come back, final score 7-2 Walkerton making this there 6th win in a row and undefeated for the season thus far.
scoring for the Cap's was Kelly,Busby,Regier(2),Zettle,McKenzie,and Leslie, winning in net was Kieffer.
