Midget Girls are going to Provincials!!
The Walkerton Midget Girls have earned their way to represent the Town at the OWHA Provincial Play downs, April 5th to 8th in Toronto after a 5-2 come from behind win against the West Grey Warriors last night in Walkerton.
Trailing 2-1 going into the third, the girls rallied and scored twice to take the lead. 2 further attempts to even the score backfired for the Warriors and resulted in 2 more empty net goals to seal the deal for the Caps with the 5-2 victory.
"That was our goal from the start of the season" Coach Troy stated. "The girls goal was to make it to Provincials and they did with hard work, dedication and commitment."
The entire coaching staff is proud of their accomplishment(s). Once you get to Toronto, you never know what can happen.
The play their final scheduled game on Saturday morning in Markdale vs TCDMHA then the preparations will start for both the WOAA final tournament and then the Provincials.
