Walkerton Vs Mount Forest
Walkerton-Hanover Vet Clinic BLL-2 boys have had a good season so far. Most games close and exciting to watch. The game against Mount Forest on Dec 4th was exactly that.
A strong 1st period by all Capital players led to the first goal scored by #18 Coleman Meyer and assisted by #9 Will Schmidt.
Second period was another strong period with end to end action. #30 Jared Pletch stopped everything thrown at him. With 1:33 left the Capitals went up 2-0 with an unassisted goal by #4 Darren Rich. With seconds on the clock a scramble in front of the Mount Forest net led to the puck crossing the goal line just as /or before the buzzer went. Sadly the goal was disallowed.
Early in the 3rd period Mount Forest got on the board to make it 2-1 Capitals. With under 5 minutes to go Mount Forest scored another 2 goals to go up 3-2. With 1:08 left, the face-off in the Mount Forest end, the draw was won by #8 Mason Stroeder and sent back to #15 Ben Schmidt and with a blast the game was tied. With time winding down and what seemed to be deja vu, there was another scramble in front of the Mount Forest net. As the buzzer went the puck once again crossed the goal line....another disallowed goal. The boys had to settle for a 3-3 tie.
