Bantam Rep Note From The Coaching Staff
Good Morning,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Don Leslie and I am very happy to be coaching this year's Bantam Rep Boy's hockey team. Scott Bowman has graciously offered to donate his time as an assistant coach. Both of us wish to invite all Bantam aged boys to the upcoming tryouts this year. The tryout schedule can be found at www.walkertonminorhockey.ca under Bantam rep.

There is a total of 52 boys registered this year. The executive has decided to have 4 teams made up of 12 skaters and 1 goalie per team. Along with our rep team there will be a rep AE team and 2 local league teams. It is Walkerton Minor Hockey's goal to have the rep team represented by the town's most qualified players, therefore, kids that do not tryout for the rep team will not qualify for the AE team. With that said we are looking forward to a great turnout for this years tryouts.

Our goal is to ice a competitive team built on skill, commitment, teamwork, and effort which comes from HARD WORKING individuals. Thanks to this years skill development every player will have the opportunity to be on the ice and get some skating in prior to the 1st tryout so be prepared to work hard during these tryouts.

In total there will be 4 tryouts. You will notice on the website that the 2000 and 2001 have been split up for their first 2 tryouts. The reason we are breaking the kids into these 2 categories is to have a better look at the players. There will be cuts after each of these tryouts. Tryouts 3 and 4 will be combined tryouts.

Our plan is to have our team picked before our first exhibition game on September 23rd. We have a group of evaluators that will give us input with these decisions. If for any reason you are unable to make the first tryout or do not wish to tryout at all please e-mail back as we will be assigning jerseys to individual players in order to properly evaluate.

We look forward to seeing you at the rink and wish everyone at great hockey season this year.

Thank you,

Don and Scott

P.S: Just a reminder to all parents that the online Respect In Sports will need to be completed before your child is rostered.
