Bantam Girls Back In Action
The Bantam Girls Rep team has played three more games and have been rewarded for all of their hard work.  They have played two regular season games and an exhibition game.

The team ventured out of town to play against Saugeen Shores.  The game was back and forth for the first two periods as neither team could find the back of the net.  A few players got close by hitting the posts, but both goalies were solid in net.  At the start of the third if you were straightening out your blankets after the flood you would have missed the goal.  Saugeen Shores scored after the face off just seven seconds into the game.  Walkerton battled back and put on the pressure and eventually tied up the game.  Brooke Schnurr scored the goal assisted by Katie Schmidt and Brina Hudson.  The game ended up in a tie 1-1.  Thanks to Brian Mulvey for helping out with the team and providing his words of encouragement.

Back to Lucknow for an exhibition game with once again only eight skaters.  The revolving door was kept busy as there was little time to rest.  Dana Borgford earned another shut out as Walkerton won the game 7-0.  Goal scorers for the game were Brooke Schnurr and Bailey Thompson with two a piece and singles going to Brina Hudson, Sophie Borho and Maddie Hickling.

Saugeen Shores blew into town on a cold and windy night just before the storm started.  Both teams started out strong and were flying just about as fast as the wind howling outside.  Maddie Hickling started off the scoring with a great second effort on her own rebound.  Stephanie Young scored the second goal from a scramble in front of the net.  Rounding out the scoring was Katie Schmidt shooting the puck through a crowd.  Saugeen Shores had numerous chances but the defensive squad of Brooke Schnurr, Jenna Fotheringham, Sophie Borho and Wallis Scott helped Dana Borgford earn a victory for home team.  Final score 3-1 for Walkerton.

Great Work and Good Luck in your upcoming Stratford Tournament.
