Bantam Rep Girls Start Season
The Walkerton Bantam Rep Girls have started their season with a mix of regular season games and a few exhibition games.   In their first four games they have skated to two wins and have lost two closely matched games.

The team started off with a regular season game with a 4-1 win against Georgian Shores.  In their first game the girls were swarming all around the visitors net for most of the game.  The Georgian Shores goalie made several key saves, keeping the girls off the scoreboard.   It wasn't until the second period when Brooklyn Schnurr was able to find the back of the net.  The girls found the scoring touch in the third period and scored three unanswered goals.  Goal scorers were Maddie Hickling scoring twice and Courtney Borgford added one.  Assists for the game went to Sophie Borho, Stepanie Young, Katie Schmidt and Krista Konecny.  Georgian Shores had their share of tries at our goalie but Dana Borgford  stacked the pads and only allowed one goal.

Next up the team travelled to Chatsworth and took on a strong TCDMHA team.  Once everyone was settled and all the equipment was finally on, the team battled hard and stood strong in front of the net trying to help out their goalie.  The first period was scoreless, but TCDMHA caught on fire and managed to put four goals in the Walkerton net.  The girls tried as they might but were unable to find the twine.

Road trip up Highway 9 to take on Kincardine for an exhibition game.  Both teams were evenly matched as it was fast back and forth action.  There were many great saves by both goalies and plenty of scoring opportunities for both teams.  The game was tied until late in the third period and Kincardine scored four goals to win 5-1.  Walkerton's goal was scored by Katie Schmidt and assisted by Krista Konecny and Stephanie Young.

Playing another exhibition game, Walkerton hosted Blyth-Brussels and won 4-1.  Scoring for the home team were Bailey Thompson, Brooklyn Schnurr, Krista Konecny and Sophie Borho.  Helping out in the assist department were Maddie Hickling, and Claire Walsh.  Dana Borgford did her job in net making many key saves.
